Alana Beth Davies

I have had a number of careers – lecturer, politician, B&B landlady, dollshouse impresario – all while raising my family of 5 daughters, but it wasn’t until I had retired from all of these that I started to write in earnest. In the past few years, I have written and published a novel,  collections of short stories and of poems, and a number of children’s stories. I have helped other aspiring authors by editing their work, and I have self-published books on their behalf.

I gained a Distinction in my MA in Creative Writing at the University of Wales Trinity St Davids in 2023,

Mike Everley

I was born in the mining district of South Wales in another time, when coal was still king. Leaving school at fifteen I served an apprenticeship in electrical engineering before studying Philosophy, as a mature student, at Coleg Harlech, Aberystwyth University and the University of Leeds. I couldn’t have been too bad at it as they awarded me an MA and MPhil, probably to get rid of me. While at Aberystwyth I edited the student’s magazine Dragon. However, my real love has always been writing and as a freelance writer I was a member of both the Society of Authors and the National Union of Journalists. My poetry, short stories and articles have appeared in numerous literary magazines, specialist magazines and general interest magazines. For example: New Statesman, Poetry Wales, The New Welsh Review, Cambrensis, Outposts, Window on Wales, Country Quest, Family Tree, Popular Craft and Amateur Gardening and most of the Croner publications.

Liz Hinds

I’m a dog-loving, ice cream eating, Welsh rugby team supporting, Granny, who tries – but very often fails - to follow Jesus, and who writes because how can I not?

T G Hyde

Glenn Hyde began writing short stories just five years ago. He is meticulous in his research, and his extensive reading is evidenced in his work.. Originally from Merthyr Tydfil, he has been based in Swansea for around fifteen years. He has had some of his fictional works published in Anglo-Welsh anthologies, which he finds particularly gratifying. Glenn studied at the University of Glamorgan and Swansea University where he gained a BA First class honours in History. He has been inspired by writers such as Guy De Maupassant, Ray Bradbury, Emile Zola and others, particularly by their ability to put so much into relatively few pages. Readers may also recognise the influence of TV shows such as The Twilight zone and Black Mirror.

Alana Jenkins is an 8 year old girl who loves to read and to. write. She also ejoys gynmastics, playing the violin, and of course she loves her pets.

Carolyn Lewis is a novelist, short story writer and creative writing tutor. She is the author of two novels, Missing Nancy and How to Keep Time. Her collection of prize-winning stories, Some Sort of Twilight was published in 2022. She has a PhD in Creative Writing from Swansea University. She has also published two text books based on her teaching methods.

Dawn Llewellyn-Price is a writer living in the Maritime Quarter of Swansea, in South Wales, but spends half the year in the south of Spain. Both these environments are culturally rich, providing a wealth of experiences ready to work their way down her fingertips onto a keyboard, creating endless ideas. She has been a columnist for newspapers and magazines in both countries for years, including Swansea’s own South Wales Evening Post, publishing fiction and non-fiction in UK glossy magazines and producing a screenplay.

Simone Mansell-Broome

Simone is a Welsh-born writer, optimist and entrepreneur who’s passionate about the environment. She’s published in magazines, ezines and anthologies. She’s been commissioned to write both for ITV and local West Wales venues. Her latest project was editing an eco-anthology – ‘Words on Troubled Waters’ - about the river Teifi. Paula Montez

I have always been captivated by poetry, and especially the rhyming type. This inspired me to write my own, and I find it an entertaining way of expressing an idea or observation. My short poems are on Instagram: @paula_montez_poetry

Jan Murphy was born in 1947 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, and despite physical difficulties, eventually trained as a registered general nurse in 1965 and then specialised in occupational health nursing, working in many factories, offices etc until her journey took her to British Telecom International as a Senior Nursing Officer, where, aged 41, she met partner number 3, who whisked her away from London and off to Swansea, where her spiritual journey began in earnest.
